introduced Bailey Brock as the program presenter.

The Program
Tom introduced
Bailey Brock, a 15 year old, from Durham. Bailey published her
first novel at age14. This is not a short story. It is a
full length novel.
Bailey talked about
her experience writing and getting it published. She has more
books coming.
She also has a bread
business. In fact the money she from selling her bread was used
to help her get published.
You can buy the book
on Amazon. It is described as a young adult dystopian novel.

The Scarlet Trials is
Fantastic!
Bailey, you
deserve a ten instead of a five! What a gifted writer you are at such
a young age! This was an incredibly suspenseful adventure. I could not
wait to get to each new chapter. It made me laugh, cry, and even stop
reading for a few days when (I can’t reveal what happened because it
would spoil it for others when they get to read this novel). I highly
recommend The Scarlet Trials!!! I want to purchase a hardback copy to
begin a collection of your series, Bailey. I cannot wait to read Book
2! Thank you, Bailey Brock, for sharing your gift of writing with the
world. Please keep writing!!

Effort at Durham Farmers Maket
Our
hard working member Imogen also shared the following
and a few photos of our Rotary Club table at the Durham Farmers Market
this past Sunday, 8/31. Unfortunately, she forgot to get any photos
with Peggi or her in them:
Peggi and I had a wonderful time meeting farmers market shoppers and
talking about all things Durham Rotary has to offer. Many folks are
excited about the upcoming Harvest Festival, and some are also looking
forward to our Crab Feed in January! We received many compliments on the
work Rotary does, as well as on our table decorations
and our interactions with visitors! First impressions are so
important, and if I may say so myself, we made a
good impression.
The Grange organizers were very welcoming and helped us set
up and take down the pop-up tent. I also want to give a shout-out
to Glenn for helping Peggi and me get the tent, table, and other table
materials from our storage unit on Saturday and being available to
return everything on Sunday after the event.
Next Meeting
Our
next meeting will be at 6:00 pm next Tuesday (Sept 15th ) in the
Durham Park. It is not a formal club meeting. It is the final
meeting for the Harvest Festival committee. We are serving hot
dogs for dinner.
All
club
members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We will be discussing
job assignments and any last minute details that need to be ironed
out.

Be Present to Win Drawing:

Bring
guests who you think you can interest in becoming a member. We Need More Members! Your
dinner and your guest’s dinner will be paid for by the Club.
Also, bring a guest to one of our occasional social gatherings.
