Dan Daley
introduced Dan Driscoll as his guest.
Chris Hatch
introduced Stan Thompson, Assistant District Governor and Chico Club member. Mike Crump introduced Rick Leland of the
Chico Club,but overlooked
Dave Mulqueeney’s guest, Chris Mulqueeney,
so Dave introduced her and his guest speaker for the meeting, Lise Smith-Peters.
Assistant
District Governor, Stan Thompson, of the Chico Club, spoke about the
District. He noted that this is the end
of his 2 years as an Assistant District Governor. The new District Governor will be Pam Gray of
the Paradise Club (if I heard it right).
The new District Governor wants the District to be more active in the
northern part of the District. Holding

Stan then

NEXT
MEETING
Next week’s meeting will be a Club Assembly at which
President will review his year and President-Elect will talk about his plans
for next year.
INDUCTION OF NEW MEMBER
Dan Davis
conducted the induction of new member Dan Driscoll who was sponsored by new
member Dan Davey. It was the three “Dan”
show. Anyway, Dan is married to Dan’s
cousin. His classification is probably
“Contracting-Control” but is still being considered. Dan gave so much history about Dan that when
it came time for Dan’s free time to talk about himself, there was little left
for Dan to say. Anyway, welcome to
Durham Rotary Dan.
REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Patrick Ranch Parking
Roy Ellis reported
that in addition to his family, Craig Hastain, Daryl Polk, Kent
Jackson, President Glenn and Steve Greenwood helped with the parking along with
Interact members. He noted that Craig
worked two shifts. A large crowd was
present at the event and the parking lot was full for a time on Saturday.
District 5160 Conference
The annual
District Conference will be held this year at
District 5160 Installation Dinner
President
Glenn reported that still no one had taken up the club’s offer to attend the
District 5160 Awards and Installation Dinner at Rolling Hills Casino on July 11
at the Club expense. (See the district website for more information) At the last Board meeting, the Board voted to
pay for one Durham Rotary member and their significant other to attend. If you would like to attend at the club’s
expense, email President Glenn, at gpulliam@mail.chicousd.org
. The first person to email is the winner. This is a great opportunity to meet
other Rotarians and experience some good Rotary fun. Assistant District Governor Stan Thompson
also encouraged members to attend.
President
Glenn circulated a thank you letter from the high school for our $21,000 in
scholarships. We also had a separate
thank you letter from one of the recipients, Jan Prentice.
School Library
President
Glenn also circulated a thank you letter from Betsy Leverenz
for our book donations to the school library.
These are the books our guest speakers are asked to sign at each

President
Glenn also circulated a thank you letter from Candy Grubbs for the assistance
of some of our members on election night.
Past International President to

From Rotary International:
Honor
dads and outgoing Rotary officers with a gift to The Rotary Foundation
Rotary International News --
A tribute gift to The Rotary Foundation is the perfect way to honor fathers and Rotary officers this June.
Do you know an idealist? Someone committed to Service Above Self? Someone who believes that one person can change the world?
Give a gift in someone's name, and The Rotary Foundation will send a letter expressing gratitude to the person you've chosen to honor. Your generosity will support Rotarians who are making a difference around the world.
The amount of your gift will not be disclosed. You will receive a separate tax receipt for gifts above US$25.
Giving
the gift of food, clean water, or medicine has never been easier. Use the online
memorial and tribute gifts form to make a contribution. By giving to the
Annual Programs Fund, you will help to fund Rotarian projects and scholarships.
