This was a Monday Night Football meeting at  Mountain Mike’s Pizza.  President Glenn dispensed with all formalities.  The members enjoyed football and pizza.  Also, some Girl Scout nuts Jane Ziad brought to sample

VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS

 

Visiting was Larry Bradley of the Oroville Club (formerly a member of Durham Rotary visited this meeting but didn’t win any quarters in the football pool this time).  Dar Meyer also had a guest, Craig Hastain.

 

NEXT MEETING

 

We will be back at the Butte Creek Country Club and back on Tuesday night.  Dave Jessen reported that he will have Rick Farley with the helicopter that he had at the Harvest Festival.

Election Help Project

 

President Glenn would like to thank everyone who helped election night checking in the election equipment. He reports that all members arrived on time and underdressed (and were the only ones on time), stood around in the rain and drank coffee (thanks Tom and Steve) and then we worked as only Durham Rotarians can. The Rotarians were fast and were efficient! (Harvest Festival experience paid off.).  Glenn was not sure if it could be called fun, but it was definitely time well spent with good friends.

 

Thanks again to K.R. Robertson, Jim Kirks, Tom Vanella, Steve Greenwood, Kent Jackson, Dave Mulqueeney, Dave Jessen and Daryl Polk.

 

You were excellent representatives of Durham Rotary.

 

Girl Scouts Nut Sales

 

Jane Ziad brought to this weeks meeting samples of Girl Scout Nuts which the Scouts will be selling this month.  Jane will have a Durham Girl Scout Troup at our meeting on November 18, 2008 to sell the nuts us.  Bring your money.

 

Christmas Party

 

Remember to get your donations to the silent auction to Dave Mulqueeney. 

 

Tell your spouse about it and get in on his or her calendar now.  Let’s do a better job of getting spouses and significant others to the party.  It is also a good time to bring a guest, with spouse or significant other, who would make a good member.

 

 

PROGRAM

 

The program was the football game between the Pittsburg Stealers and the Washington Redskins.  Pittsburg won 23 to 6.

 

In Dar’s football pool, the winners were:

Fourth Quarter:  Craig Hastain (Dar’s guest)
