	May 20, 2008	The  2008 Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2008.

 

President Daryl opened the meeting at the Durham Park.  He asked Glenn Pulliam to lead the pledge, which he did, absent a flag.  Jim Patterson offered the invocation.

May 27th:  Day after Memorial Day- No meeting   June  3rd :  Carnitas Feed.   June 10th :  Club Assembly-Celebration of Goals with the President and the President-Elect.   June 17th : Bill Apger presenting “Steve Bertagna Uncensored”   June 24th:  Demotion.   July 1st:  Awaiting new list.   July 8th:  Awaiting new list.   July 15th:  Awaiting new list.   July 22nd:  Awaiting new list.   July 29th:  Awaiting new list.

 

 

VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS

 

There were no visiting Rotarians, however there were several spouses.  Tom Knowles introduced his wife, Sarah and his children Zoe, Theodore and Carter (if I heard it right.  I couldn’t double check on the Club’s web page because his info isn’t complete).  Ged Andrusaitis introduced Connie. Dave Jessen introduced Sue and granddaughter Ashlan (when he finally remembered her name). Chris Hatch introduced Portia.  Andy Farrar introduced Dianne. Roy Ellis introduced Jan.  And I introduced Cindy.

 

Where were the rest of the spouses?  The students present outnumbered the Rotarians and their guests.  Sort of embarrassing, wasn’t it.

 

NEXT MEETING

 

The next meeting will also be at the Durham Park.  It will be the Carnitas Feed put on by Norm Larson and his crew.

 

Again this is an event to invite your spouses and significant others.  Let’s do a better job this time.

 

This is also a fund raiser and each of you are responsible for selling 4 tickets, which were passed out at the last meeting.  So, in addition to your spouse or significant other, invite another couple, preferably someone than you can interest in joining Rotary.

 

 

 

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

CLUB BYLAWS

 

K. R. has completed a draft of proposed bylaws for the Club.  It is being reviewed by his Bylaws Committee.  Upon completion of that review, the proposed bylaws, as amended by the committee, will be presented to the Club for adoption.

 

 

HARVEST FESTIVAL

 

 

 

Get the Durham Rotary 2008 Harvest Festival Sponsorship Forms you are responsible for back to Steve Greenwood by the end of June.  They need to be back by early July so we can get the T-Shirts ordered and the lists of sponsors printed.
