WARNING: Regarding the May 6th , May 13th , and May 20th meetings, if there is anything to announce to members about those programs, get it to me now.  The April 29th Rowel will be the last Rowel that I will be able to publish anything about those meetings, such as where they will be.  The May 6th and May 13th Rowels will have been written by then.  I will not be sending out a reminder email before the May 6th meeting.  After the April 29th Rowel, you will be on your own until the May 20th meeting, unless Jim Kirks can get anything to Jen to add to a Rowel.

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CLUB BYLAWS

Now that K. R. is back, it is the time to report to him your comments about the Bylaws he distributed in December, which you have, I am sure, reviewed as he asked.  We cannot find the Bylaws for the Club and need to adopt new ones.  Speaking of K.R., Jim reports that he is getting some use of his hands back.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

Steve Greenwood passed around Durham Rotary 2008 Harvest Festival Sponsorship Forms with a list of the sponsorship levels list.  Get the forms to all the sponsors you know of.  Steve wants the forms back by early July so we can get the T-Shirts ordered and the lists of sponsors printed.

Rotary Golf Day

The reason Jim Wilson of the Chico Club visited our meeting was to announce Rotary Golf Day and encourage our members to attend.  See the flyer at the end of this Rowel for info on the Rotary Golf Day on May 12, 2008 sponsored by the Chico Rotary Club and the Chico Sunrise Rotary Club.  Next Thursday is the last day to register.

RECOGNITIONS

President Daryl couldn’t find any member to recognize, but he had overlooked himself.  When reminded, he contributed $27 for his 27th anniversary.

PROGRAM

Tom Knowles presented John Anderson of New Urban Builders who spoke about the Meriam Park Project and Planning Issues.  John described the elements of the development and indicated that they will start construction on the retail and business components this year.  Due to the current housing market they will hold off another year or two on the residential components.

DRAWING

As Clint Goss was getting up to draw a name, Tom Vanella told him to pull Tom’s name.  Clint did, so Tom was here to win the “Must Be Present to Win” drawing.
