It was reported to me that the meeting was opened by President Daryl.  The flag salute was led by Ged Andrusaitis.  Jim Patterson gave the invocation.

FUTURE MEETINGS:

April 1:  Glenn Pulliam will present Janet Brinson on the CUSD budget,

April 8:  Dar Meyer will present a program by the North Valley Health Education Foundation.

April 15:  Daryl Polk will present Brian Shul, a retired SR-71 pilot.

April 22:  Tom Knowles will present John Anderson of New Urban Builders who will speak about the Meriam Park Project and Planning Issues.

April 29:  Dave Mulqueeney

May 6th:  Ged Andrusaitis

May 13th:  Tod Kimmelshue

May 20th:  Roy Ellis – Hot Dog Picnic at the Durham Park with Interact, Camp Royal and Students of the Month.

I was way late for the meeting due to something that came up at the last minute, so I didn’t have time to arrange for someone to take notes.  Up to the program, it is what was reported to me, or my guess.

VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS

I believe that Roy Ellis, Norm Larson and Andy Farrar introduced the visiting Rotarians and the quests, of which there were many, since it was a spouse’s night.  Sorry, I do not have the names of those introduced.

NEXT MEETING

Glenn Pulliam will present Janet Brinson speaking on the CUSD budget.

REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CLUB BYLAWS

When K. R. Robertson gets back on his feet he will want your comments about the Bylaws he distributed in December, which you have, I am sure, reviewed as he asked.  We cannot find the Bylaws for the Club and need to adopt new ones.  Speaking of K.R., Jim reports that he is getting some use of his hands back.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

Regarding the 2008 Harvest Festival, Steve advises that the Harvest Festival Committee meetings will be held as needed after our regular Rotary meetings.  He indicates that all the committee chairpersons know what they have to do, so start doing it.

District 5160 Conference

A Rotary Conference, Golf Event, Poker Tournament, a Rotary Club Hospitality Party in the theme of the Prospectors (think Gold Rush era, Paint Your Wagon).  The pricing is reasonable, the lodging is inexpensive.   Go to www.rotary5160.org and get all the details.

Lodging is limited.  Call now for room reservations:

I am told that there were no recognitions tonight.

PROGRAM

Roy Ellis presented Congressman Wally Herger.  He spoke about various problems facing the country, including Iraq, national security, immigration and the problem of Social Security and Medicare running out of money.  A very enlightening and sobering talk.
