VISITING
ROTARIANS & GUESTS
Dar Meyer
introduced Larry Bradley of the Oroville Club.
Bruce Miller introduced Floyd Miller of the Chico Club. Also introduced was another visiting
Rotarian, but I couldn’t hear the name or club and forgot to check later as the
meeting went to the dogs (see below). It
sounded like “Rene Randle”, but probably wasn’t.
Roy Ellis will present Congressman Wally
Herger. It is a spouse’s night, so invite!
REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
CLUB
BYLAWS
When K. R. Robertson gets back on his feet he will want your comments about the Bylaws he distributed in December, which you have, I am sure, reviewed as he asked. We cannot find the Bylaws for the Club and need to adopt new ones. Speaking of K.R., Jim reports that he is getting some use of his hands back.
HARVEST
FESTIVAL
Steve
Greenwood reported that Dan Davis has finished the accounting for the 2007 Harvest Feed. The result was:
T otal Revenue:
$38,336
Total Expenses:
$18,287
Net Profit: $20,049
$17,500 was
delivered to the Club Treasurer. The
balance will be retained as seed money for next year.
That is, I believe, the best ever. However it is now in the past. Now we must look to bettering that at the
2008 Harvest Festival.
Regarding the 2008 Harvest Festival, Steve advises that the Harvest Festival Committee meetings will be held as needed after our regular Rotary meetings. He indicates that all the committee chairpersons know what they have to do, so start doing it.

PROGRAM
There was
apparently a mix up on dates with Dino Corbin, as he didn’t appear. However, Chris Hatch volunteered that his
trained dog was in his vehicle and he could demonstrate blind fetching on the
golf course. Hastily permission was
obtained from the BCCC. The meeting
adjourned to the golf course, just outside the meeting room. After Chris had members hide the items to be
fetched (I don’t know what he calls them, but they look like small orange buoys
to me). The dog, who
cannot see orange, then fetches them by following whistle and hand signals from
Chris directing him. This was not 25 or
50 feet. These were hundreds of feet
away and the dog was required to go in a straight line, even though that was
through a sand trap or water. Very
impressive!
DRAWING
Chris
Hatch was here to win the “Must Be Present To Win”
