This meeting was the Harvest Festival. So President Daryl Polk did not open the meeting at the Durham Park. Members were there working before sunrise.  And while it had been in doubt earlier in the week, the resurrected Captain Bob was there.  Not yet painted but working fine.  The relocation of equipment inside seemed help with the work flow.  The only thing missing was the coffee maker.  The cost is about $3,000 and there was no money left to purchase it.  So we rented two coffee makers.  Not enough.  Since they take an hour to make 100 cups of coffee, more were needed.

FUTURE MEETINGS:

September 25th:  Harvest Festival Club Assembly

October 2nd:  Dan Davis

October 9th:  No Meeting.  Columbus Day travel day.

October 16th:  Roy Ellis

October 22nd (Monday):  Monday Night Football at Mountain Mike’s.

October 30th: Chris Hatch

January 29th:  Dar Meyer will present  Kim Schafer, daughter of Walt Schafer.

The weather could not have been better.  Breakfast started a little slow, but never slowed down after it got started.  If the number of forks I put out is any guide by 11:00 am we had sold a lot of breakfasts.

As far as the Tri-Tip/Hot Dog lunch was concerned, we ran out of Tri-Tip by 2:00 p.m.  I don’t believe that has happened before.

By the time the Chicken Dinner crew was finished, they had sold all their chicken.  About the only thing left was a few hot dogs.

While I couldn’t see a lot from my location behind the Captain Bob, if the food sales were any guide, the Harvest Festival  21007 was a success.  Hopefully that means a lot of profit.

Beyond that the report on the Harvest Festival is in the photographs at the end of this Rowel.  Thanks to Kent Jackson for supplying a lot of the photographs.

NEXT MEETING

The next meeting is back at the BCCC.  It is a Club Assembly critiquing the Harvest Festival.  Bring your comments about things we can do to improve it next year.
