REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

COURT THEATRE WITH CHICO ROTARY

Roy Ellis reports that the meeting for July 17, 2007 will be with the Chico Rotary Club and a special service club production of “Cabaret” by the CSUC Court Theatre.  It is a meeting of record for the Chico Club and for our Club.  The event will begin at 6:00 pm in the Atrium of the Bell Memorial Auditorium and CSUC.  In the spirit of “Cabaret” dinner will be German Beer, wine, and a sausage dog.  At 7:30 pm will be a private production of “Cabaret” in the Harlen Adams Theatre.  Free parking is available in the parking lots directly across the street from the theatre and auditorium.  Tickets are $20.00 each and includes the dinner and a ticket to “Cabaret”.  The club has purchased 30 tickets.  Glenn Pulliam has them.  They must be purchased from Glenn no later than the July 10th meeting (the next meeting).  If 30 are not enough more can be purchased if we know in time.  If you want tickets let Glenn know by phone or email, to give him a chance to know if additional tickets are needed.

Kent is attempting to move the program he had arranged for the 17th to the 24th, since Bill Apger hasn’t found a program for that date.

  PROGRAM

Bill Apger, the immediate Past President, conducted the demotion of President Andy Farrar.  Several members were asked to comment on Andy’s presidency.

Phil Price pointed out that just last week he had to volunteer $10 for his birthday because Andy overlooked it in May (of course avoiding singing “Happy Birthday” alone to Bill Apger also had something to do with it).  Andy said that was because I wasn’t there on my birthday.  (With a promise of immunity from the incoming President) I pointed out that he also didn’t recognize me for being in Cabo San Lucas on my birthday and in Las Vegas in February.

Jim Patterson pointed out that during Andy’s presidency he had moved us from the Durham Memorial Hall to the BCCC with a bar serving alcohol.  He suggested that Andy drove us to drink.  Jen Liu and Roy Ellis also had comments.  But Roy also pointed out that we had given $21,000 in scholarships this year.  Eventually, Andy was presented with his past president’s pin and hand made plaque, with a mallet on it, (followed by a real plaque).

The gavel was then turned over to President Daryl Polk, who adjourned the meeting.
